glad everyone is seemingly doing well! good luck came up on the spotify shuffle in my shop so it got me thinking and i meandered back this way.

i live in hamilton, ontario, canada and own a couple vegan bakeries & a food truck with my partner. still playing music, just of a very different genre! i have a dog and six cats and life is in a rad place. it feels privileged and rad to be able to say i have no complaints!

keep well y'all!

tbh i aged into just hanging out with my animals and reading when im not working and im really happy for it. i talk to the people who matter when we wanna talk, at a pace mutually agreed upon but unspoken and its all worked out well.

I had a Toshiba that lasted 6 years and I now have an HP that has lasted 3 and still works great. I go for big screen laptops cause of my eyes and both were reasonably priced (~$600 give or take) and work real well.

me and whatshisface from san francisco sitting in the same room having a fake argument on this board about me sleeping with his partner on tour was a real hoot, that was like 12 years ago.

in 2016 i:

- got my food truck, rescue dogs vegan hot dogs & street fare, up and running. it was a ton of work... literally 52 straight weeks of 80+ hours worth of work... but totally worth it. we won best food truck in ontario and starting in late winter our original recipe hot dogs will be available in stores across canada, woop!

- since i have no chill, i opened a second business called melting matildas in november. its going well so far! vegan ice cream by the pint.

- adopted 2 more feline companions, Koshekh & Omen, to make our family 6 cats deep & 1 canine companion.

- my band with my partner, vile creature, put out a second record and played some shows. it was really fun and we're real proud of it.

- i got married to aforementioned partner on halloween, just like lindsey!

- went on then came off anxiety meds, but feel like i have a better handle on everything overall which is rad.

- started a new band with two close friends. i play drums, which is what ive always wanted to do in a band. its called moon worship and we just recorded! its like dark heavy shoegazy pop music.

all in all, i really appreciated 2016 even if the world around is turning to shit. i hope 2017 is equally personally liberating.

Hi kw

I've thought about this a lot and have come to the conclusion that

are you looking for a roommate? I am not too far from Canada please help me find housing

i got u bb boy. i live in an amazing town with really cheap rent and a decent ability to work minimally and live well. we're gonna be hiring at my business so i can give ya a rad vegan punx job, we have universal health care and haven't had to worry about trans/queer rights in quite some time. obviously its never gonna be perfect, but legal gay marriage happened for us in the 90s and the general concensus in this country is use whatever washroom corresponds with you, more power to you.

come to st. catharines!

seriously though.... holy shit.....

you voting for hillary cause trump is a nightmare?
you voting for trump cause you want pure chaos and are secretly racist?
you voting green party / libertarian / third party cause you are super idealistic?

OMG KW I AM GETTING MARRIED ON HALLOWEEN TOO!

Besides that, which I barely ever think about and haven't started planning because I'm so freaking busy, I got my tattoo license in March and just got a job at an incredible shop with the most amazing artists/people. I am still working my "day job" 4 days a week and tattoo on the other 3 days, and it's been about a year and a half of working 7 day weeks. I am leaving that job to become a full time artist in August and it is the greatest accomplishment and most exciting thing that has ever happened to me. Starting in August I also get to start going to conventions with my tattoo shop crew, the first one being Seattle - does anyone PIXy live there still?? Anyway, tattooing is the best thing in my whole life, I finally feel so much passion and dedication to a medium after spending much of my life dabbling in different things. My partner is the best person in the world and after 6 months of devastating unemployment/intense depression, he got a new job that was just made permanent after being hired through a temp agency - doing scheduling at OHSU which is a really huge hospital here. He will be unionized and stuff, so his job is super secure which is so exciting for him. After toying with the idea of moving away from Portland, we both locked down incredibly amazing jobs so it looks like we'll be sticking around for at least 5 years or so, and the next big thing on the horizon is to move out of our shit hole apartment. The End!

Also if anyone is wondering, I never talk about it because I am still devastated, but I made the decision to find a new home for Rocket after he got really really intense anxiety when my schedule changed and I just didn't have the time or money to put him first. He is a happy boy getting all the attention he deserves now, but I miss him so much it hurts.

1: great minds get married alike. LOVE IT LINDS!
2: so proud for you and stoked you found your passion, makes me so stoked to hear.
3: whenever i end up on the west coast (my partner and i are planning to do a tour out there with our band sometime in the next few years if we can sneak away from our business) im gonna need to get tattoo'd by ya!

i posed the question, i'm happy to go first if anyones interested:

i am actually really well and busy while maintaining a pretty low key surrounding. its really working out for me. between running a vegan food business, playing in a band, and coming home to a house filled with a dog, four cats, and my partner... i have little to complain about, and that is a real privilege and sometimes a shock to be able to say. my partner and i are actually getting legally binded (aka married without the hoopla) on halloween, and it is exciting in a weird way. i've gotten worse at the internet and keeping up with whats going on / online communication, but i don't feel left out nor too distant and equally i don't feel too in the know and overwhelmed. its a nice balance.

xoxo
