Out here in bloomington too!

Things are ok, I've been impressed a little, but also pretty disappointed how the essential services I know are dealing with the crisis. Higher ups not listening to suggestions from people that are actually in contact with people (rather than sitting in their office all day) and not making an effort to keep folks as safe as they could with a little effort. Especially some specific important situations I think. Im working at a houseless shelter at it's been rough in several ways outside of the usual, but besides a few things I think the shelter is doing well. Other than that staying home and working on stuff or playing super mario, reading, playing music, or skating/walking in isolation. Excited to be gardening soon, im still eating the collards that have been going since last year! And i was gone for three months during the winter.

Hope yall are well, thanks for sharing your situations < 3

typically is mostly boring and disappointing to me

I also havent experienced too much of bands I really care about doing that, knowing them before mainstream success

books I've read or finished recently enough (probably in the last 5 months) include

Sidewalk - Mitchell Duneier
What Ive Stolen, What Ive Earned - Sherman Alexie
Prison Writings: My Life is a Sun Dance - Leonard Pelteir
Indian Killer - Sherman Alexie

and Im at least half way/nearly done with

Refusing to be a Man: Essays on Sex and Justice - John Stoltenberg
The Satanic Verses - Salman Rushdie
and self help book on communicating but its kinda weird, only book I wouldnt recommend here
refusing to be a man is weird at times too, pretty great in others

Sherman Alexie is the best. My girlfriend got to meet him!

woah thats awesome! I instantly get so sucked in to any book I read of his, I love it. Im stoked for a new book he has coming out this year focused on the his mother, who passed away in recent years I think?

I can't at all agree with the Mountain Goats, but the Beatles, Jawbreaker and Op Ivy make sense.

What about Built to Spill?  Operation: Cliff Clavin?
100% yes on Built to Spill and Op:CC.

What about the Dead Kennedys and The Stooges? Black Sabbath?

dead  kennedys yayaya
i love op:cc but know they dont make the list

ah descendants is one i just couldnt ever get into. I keep feeling like I need to give them another shot every time I say that though. seems like a band everyone cares about.

I back op ivy 100%
I was playing them at the pizza shop and an older couple liked it and ended up buying a cd online it was sweet
