Martha is a band from Durham, United Kingdom, and their first LP has just been released to much acclaim, and this record makes a perfect companion piece. These are two of the catchiest songs that I have heard in a long time, and the use of multiple vocalists allows them to do some really interesting stuff. DIY high energy pop.
Our friend David has been playing DIY punk pop under the name Spoonboy for like a decade, as well as fronting the similarly-long-running Max Levine Ensemble. He has a penchant for cramming complex political ideas illustrated in personal experience into freewheeling two-minute pop nuggets, and his songs on here are no different. They are fully electrified and backing-banded as well, if that's your jam.
