I've broken too many bass strings recently...

if they are breaking at the bridge every time (especially if it is the same string over and over), you may have a burr at the saddle.

I made this in the spring, might make some tapes. If you want one I'd gladly trade.

This is the first available song on my band's actual release that was recorded/mastered.

I've never had anything mastered before, so I'm really excited about it.

Also, I don't think I ever posted it, but my band Boring People also has a split single release on this same label. It's more indie-rock approachable stuff, but I'm very pleased with how this recording turned out. Also, the other band on our split is really, really great.

So my band is going to start recording our first ep, and I was just wondering what was the best way to go about getting them reproduced and printed and everything. Figured this was a good place to ask.

jer

what are you trying to do? CDs? CDRs? tapes? vinyl? how many?
Anti-Creative Records sells some things.

Stinkbug

Sorry, should've been more specific. I want to do CDs, and a relative small run of them, maybe 50. I know a lot of sites offer bulk discounts, but as of right now we have a pretty small fanbase.

jer

honestly, unless you're looking at CDRs, i don't think any place is going to do that small of a run. And if they will, it will be super expensive

Yeah, you're probably gonna have to go with CD-r for that quantity.  I recommend https://www.kunaki.com/

Thanks a lot. I'll check that out and keep that in mind. We still have to record even, so I have time.

So we're still working on finding a time to record with better equipment, but we have some demos.

Can we also make this a thread about how much fun it is to be in a band, because it is seriously the best.  My band has played 4 shows so far, and each one has been a blast.  And one show was opening for Erik Peterson, which was an amazing happening that I still can't believe happened.

My pop punk band Snack Champion just released an album! It's here if any of y'all are interested:

I went through just about everything here. You guys are really good at what you do and the love shows.

Some things I wrote down as I listened:

Jerkemy are those sampled video game sounds? Or recreated? Very cool.

Wolves drinking beer. :)

Your voice sounds really awesome Nyla. I'm glad you wrecked it for those recordings. My speakers were incredulous as it was.

THE POWER - Those drawings are awesome! I kept getting lost in the little details.

Montezuma's stuff was worth listening to twice. Both sites.

QuoteI broke a string, tore up my hand on the broken string, then while our friends played I found someone with bass strings, ran around the building to get them, hopped a fence, and changed my string in time to play again. It was a nightmare, but I was pretty proud of myself.
- You should be. That's a story to tell forever.

Totally a fan of Sweatlands, Ankle Grease, I Made This Mistake, Pretty Hot/Ghost Mice(I've lived off of dumpster pizza..that made me LOL), Defiance, Ohio and pretty much everything by Anti-Creative. You guys rock so hard.

(Glory Days with a banjo was genius, myles.)

Thanks for sharing everybody. I'm doing pretty simple stuff. Not sure what to call it. If you have any ideas..please fill me in. Seriously..thanks. I'm calling it folk punk for now and hoping it sticks.
