What drew you here? What are you going to do about it?

What drew you to PIX and this board in particular?  What value did it create for you?  What parts of it would you want to rebuild if you could?  What are you creating or contributing to now?

I was lonely and pix music spoke to me. I wanted friends.
I'm writing now, and playing a little music on the ukulele.
I'm a part of the mom community here, which I know sounds lame but is radical in its own little way. We try to create the village that's missing for so many people in the suburbs. We do babysitting exchanges so we can work on our creative and work projects and gift each other things we no longer need for our kids so we don't have to buy as much.

PIX was a friends hobby that turned into a bigger group of friends doing stuff I never thought was possible.
Seeing a group of people build and connect their communities into something so much bigger than themselves is very inspiring.  I went places and made art that I never would have thought of creating if it weren't for all the people I met.
I would love to band together with more artists to build something positive, like organizing artists into buying their studio buildings instead of just gentrifying themselves out of neighborhoods, or something.
I started to create a record label, but I'm now realizing a label isn't exactly what I think will create the value I want to see, but I'm still figuring it out.  If anyone has good books/sites/videos on how to explore ideas like that, please share.
