hello, from the future. It's 2026.

The form was acting wonky and old posts past the first page of threads weren't displaying.

So I've updated the forum software to the latest version, which as far as I can tell has fixed the problem.

See you all again in another few years for the next update.

Bumping an old thread on a board that hasn't has a post since 2022 to day hey Becca, I finally read your book On Home. Felt like a real treat after years ago getting so many updates about the process and all the work you put into it. I don't read a ton of fiction and often when I do it's more in the sci-fi realm, so it was a bit out of my wheelhouse but I enjoyed it. What an immense undertaking, you should be proud!

I am also currently reading Joyful Militancy, and my favorite two reads of 2024 were Close To The Knives: A memoir of Disintegration by David Wojnarowicz and Everything for Everyone: An Oral History of the New York Commune, 2052-2072 by Eman Abdelhadl and M.E. O'Brien.

Hope you are well, old punks.

I'm not saying it's all your fault, but remember when you broke the last message board, and we lost all the recipes, tabs, and dick tattoos?  I blame that.

Just joshing you, buddy.  Hope you're doing well and everyone's still out there causing acceptable levels of mayhem ❤

it's, uh, been a while.

the forum software hadn't been updated in years, as no one has posted here in years. but since that was a huge security risk, i finally got around to upgrading to the latest version. this broke our old layout/theme design, so we're stuck with this.

i hope your lives are all very good and you are doing ok, all things considered.

General / Bananas "forbidden fruit" cove...
Last post by Makk - September 15, 2021, 04:23:14 PM
Hey did anybody else get that bananas cover album of forbidden fruit? I cannot for the life of me remember who made that. I'd like to hear it again but I lost that CD a long time ago. I bet that's lost to the sands of time, like the early Dirty Dirty Dietrich songs.

Hope everyone is doing well, I used to lurk here as a middle/high schooler in 00s suburbia and this place was like an oasis to me. There were some good role models who used to come here. I still have one of those stickers Rory mailed out to people a long time ago of the person sitting in the tiny lawn pool. I haven't put it on anything because I'm always afraid I'll put a sticker on something and wish I had put it on something else.

General / Re: General Movie Thread

When lock down started I started MST3K from the beginning to watch while working and at this point I feel like an expert on schlock. A couple of the movies were genuinely good and I enjoyed them more than the riffing. I've also been watching a lot of the 50's and 60's stuff on the Film Detective app, much of which (but not all!) is also hokey but fun. Watched all of Twin Peaks + Fire Walk because I'd never seen it before, and I feel like I should have had my punk card revoked for not seeing it sooner. I don't really watch a lot of TV other than cartoons though.

How did we all feel about Uncut Gems? I liked it; it wasn't quite what I was expecting, but it was definitely a great performance from Sandler.

I'm like 65% sure that's a joke; but... is there a Discord?
