If Athens winds up not working out you can come to Atlanta a night early, and I could set up a house show or something.  Just let me know so I can ask off work.

Orrrrr you could try playing Greenville?

Try getting involved with new stuff around your city that your friends are necessarily involved in.  I felt like I wasn't making any new friends in Atlanta, but then I started back to school and have since met a lot of nice folks I otherwise wouldn't have.  What are some things you're interested in?

Jaybird, new Wild 7" juuuuuust came in from the plant.  It's an acoustic split with our pal Ryan Harvey.  PIX should have some for sale within a few weeks.

We've also got a new full-length a'brewin', but it won't be out until mid-next year.

My jam today. Had to settle for the ale because they didn't have the ginger beer. Still delicious, though:

I wasn't that impressed by Fever-Tree ginger beer when I had it a year or so ago.  Dunno what it was about it, just wasn't super into the flavor.

Someone asked me to list my top ginger drinks earlier this year, here's the list I came up with (hopefully I haven't already posted it here): Buffalo Rock Ginger Ale, Maine Root Ginger Brew, Gosling's Ginger Beer, Trader Joe's Triple Ginger Brew, Swamp Pop Jean Lafitte Ginger Ale, Bruce Cost Unfiltered Passion Fruit Ginger Ale

Today's soda for me:

One of the best sodas I've ever had.  Highly recommended, along with most of Bundaberg's other stuff.

So, that Nature's Pure FV Cola was tasty, but soooooo thick.  It was almost like drinking straight syrup.  I couldn't manage to finish half of the bottle.

In other news, a soda that was marked in the store as being a cherry kola actually turn out to be a soda made from Thai chili peppers because someone placed the drinks in the complete wrong order on the shelf.  Fortunately for me, the company is sending me a replacement bottle for free!

As luck may have it, I found a bottle today.  It was a bit larger and cost $2.40.  It's in the fridge now.  Wahoo!

I've never had that variety, but one if their other cola varieties was pretty good.

Interested in trying that kind, but I've never seen them available by the single bottle. And a 4 pack is like 8 bucks.

I'm picking one of those up tomorrow; in the US they're only available in select stores around the South until late next month.

The reason they've made this drink is to try to break into the alternative sweetener market (although it does seem weird to mix multiple types of sweeteners). Huge company, I'm surprised it took them this long.

Don't know this person at all / haven't followed this thread / really any others, but they just sent me like 20 FB messages.  Gonna wade through it in a few days when I'm not so busy.

Would recommend Natural Brew Chai Cola and Taylor's Tonics Chai Cola over this pumpkin spice soda.

It came from World Market. That being said, it's from Orca Bev so most soda shops should have it. Didn't really taste like pumpkin, though. It was more of a chai cream soda. Not bad, but not as good as I was hoping.

Maine Root makes a good Pumpkin Pie soda that should be pretty easy to find. Jack's Pumpkin Patch is the way to go, though.

Yeah, I've definitely got some really long days.  Nothing too unmanageable, though.

+ My fifth graders are great!  They say so many goofy things.
- Booking / Playing / Going to fewer shows.
+ Looking at PhD programs?  Kind of a weird feeling, but it seems absolutely achievable.

Also, I play bass in a band called The Wild.  You can download all of our stuff for free on Quote Unquote Records.  We also have an acoustic split 7" with Ryan Harvey coming out on PIX soon!  Here's a link to our most recent full-length: http://quoteunquoterecords.com/qur067.htm

I do a solo thing as well.  No real recordings yet, aside from five quick songs that are on this live thing.  The Mike Strain songs are what you should really be listening to, though.

+ Started the first stages of student teaching today!  I'm in a fifth grade joint Language Arts / Social Studies classroom.
- It's 25 miles from my house, and sometimes I have to go there straight from an overnight shift at work.
- Food poisoning.
+ Grad classes started back up today.  Seems like they're gonna be fairly fun.
- I'm in class from 4 - 10 PM straight.

Yeah, I'm not really into DRY sodas although some of my friends love them.  I've tried lavender, pear, and cucumber.
