FAQ

What is this place?
This is a message board that has been in existence since 2004, once as the official message board of Plan-It-X Records. It was once a very active place that regularly discussed punk related things, now it's mostly just a bunch of old-timers who became old together online where we talk about nothing in particular.

What are the rules?
Don't be a jerk.

This place sucks.
That's not even a question!

Why does this place suck so much?
Better.

What happened to my old account? What happened to the old posts?
On June 10, 2014 we suffered the biggest data loss we've ever had, and anything before that date, going back all the way to Feb 2004, is gone. Forever. It's not coming back. Also, inactive accounts are occasionally purged from the forum. Please make a new account.

I feel like everyone on this board likes the Mountain Goats, but I'm sure there is one person here (out of the 10 or so active members haha) who will veto that opinion.

I'm pretty sure Brett has gotten huffy over them before.

Speaking of getting huffy... I don't dislike Bad Religion, but I could probably only recognize like 2 of their songs. I never really listened to them for some reason, even during the height of that era of punk.

no, i don't have any need to have a local copy of that in 2017. It's all available via free streaming services somewhere, i don't need it taking up space on my phone or whatever.

torrents still exist and everything is still on youtube, and if you're desperate, it's pretty easy to download from youtube... but I don't really feel much of a need to download anything these days

Strung Out was pretty popular around here, but that album in particular was never a very popular one. It was crazy underrated, and I loved it.

General / Erin Tobey - Middlemaze
December 30, 2016, 07:44:38 AM
I feel bad because I got old and it's been hard for me to keep up with what happened to a bunch of the Plan-It-X folks, and so I've missed a bunch of great stuff that's come out since the PIX heyday...

for example... did you know that Erin Tobey released a new album in like, June? And that it's great? It's on Let's Pretend Records.

Yeah John was a shit dude.

Songwriting-wise he's clearly the best Beatle.

For example, Carrie Nations was mentioned as one of somebody's favorite PiX releases in the other thread.  I never checked that out.  It's long out of print now and so underground that there aren't any used copies of the album online that I can find.  Also, it's not on the PiX bandcamp site to download.  I have no idea how to ever check out that album now.

Just now saw this so I'm super late, but the entire "Be Still" album is on youtube.

here's 5 songs on bandcamp, though not from the PIX release https://carrienations.bandcamp.com/

Any thread in which a random person who isn't a regular on the board comes in offering to sell stuff is an appropriate thread to remind people that not everyone is honest and that we have examples of this going wrong before. Even when the people have been regulars.

You're probably great and honest, but not everyone is, and folks should be cautious so they don't get Seamonkeyed.

This reminds me, we haven't had a solid reminder about Seamonkey in a while.  I assume nobody got their records, right?

You mean known thief Jay Sargent?

i like the theory, but it will never happen. that's not to say don't sign the petition or actively protest, though.
