Yeah, it's a cool place. Good luck with everything. I can imagine it being stressful, based on how stressed I get just trying to set up single shows for my band haha.

Masked Intruder. I think the concept is awesome, and I like some of the music, but the vocals are just too sugary for me. I guess I like my pop punk a little dirtier.

I don't know how helpful this will be for Philly, but two of the three shows I've actually managed to get my band on have been at a bar in Philly called the Kung Fu Necktie. You can try contacting flashmobpro@gmail.com to see if they can get you on a show. Again, I don't know how helpful this will be, because I've tried for months to get some shows going with out much luck.

I finally got a band together after years of trying. Apparently all I had to do was spend time convincing my two brothers that punk rock is totally awesome. So now we all play in a band called Gator Punch. We recorded some demos. We have our first show in a couple weeks. Exciting!

I'm sure this will be as unpopular on here as it is in real life, but I am damn excited for True Blood to start tonight. I know it's terrible. But I love it. I thoroughly enjoyed last season's ridiculousness, and can't wait for the last season.

General / Summer Goals

I seem to remember a thread of people's plans for the summer, which made me think about what I would like to accomplish. So here goes.
Finish writing and illustrating my children's book.
Edit and rewrite the novel I started.
Record twelve songs with my band in a way I'm actually proud of.
Get a job as a sub so I can start subbing in the fall and not have to work retail anymore.
Finish a full watercolor painting.
Finish a full acrylic painting.
Land a second 360 flip. This one is obviously most important.

+I graduated from college last month with a degree in English.
-Still have another year of teacher prep, including student teaching, before I'm certified.
Congrats. Are you looking to teach English? What age group?
TURN AND RUN AWAY!
(Just kidding. Sort of. That's what I teach, World Lit and American Lit. I'm about to start my third year, so I'm hoping to finally get my bearings and establish a bit of a routine. Let me know if you need anything.)
Haha, that's why I'm getting so nervous. All I've heard is how difficult it is, but once you figure out what works, it's very rewarding. We'll see. And thanks. I'm sure I'll make use of your help.

+A band of mine is actually productive, as in practice at least twice a week, and our first show coming up soon. After years of writing shitty songs, its nice to actually be playing said shitty songs.

-All this is making me feel like an adult, which is scary.

The holocaust remembrance museum in D.C. uses gypsy a lot, with Roma in parentheses, which I thought was very strange. Especially since it points out that Roma is the preferred term, but then still used gypsy.
Not to derail the thread, sorry. I have 2 stick and pokes, one which says "Black Coffee for a Black Heart" and has a coffee mug with a black heart on it, and another that has ssac in the nyhc logo, which is a joke amongst my friends for a club we made up called the super secret awesome club.
