Hi all,
I'm lurker as fuck but have something I simply cannot answer without posting. I'm looking to make an Anorexic Olsen Twin t-shirt coming round this year as my other folk punk ones have died a death. I remember a year or two ago managing to get onto the waybackmachine and found a black image on a white t-shirt which may have been the original merch design. It said anorexic olsen twin in the background and had zombies and chainsaw action in black over the top (aka 'I Guess thats what brains look like').
I've googled everything I can think of, checked my old hard drives, and asked around. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Are you looking for a picture of the shirt or one of the shirts? Either way, I would just send Chris an email, his address is chrishrew@hotmail.com.
wow the term "Anorexic Olsen Twin" is so fucking offensive. Is that a band? I refuse to google it

It is a band. I think it's a shitty name for a band. I am curious as to why they would choose that name. I was wondering if anyone on the board would have a problem with it when I saw this thread.
Australian folk punk band from 2009. I have no idea why they chose that name. I've always been bummed on it.
p sure they chose that name because they are sexist and ableist, like that is not the confusing part
What is the confusing part for you?
i guess, why they would think it's okay and how they get away with it? it's mostly just feminist rage masked as rhetorical confusion, sorry i was not more clear
I think it's one of those things like with The Casualties (ew) where there's a "it's punk rock I can say/ do whatever I want as long as I don't mean anything by it" mentality (which punk has a long gross history of). There's other egregious language in Chris' music.
Why is there so much misogyny and racism and transphobia in NOFX's music?
Why is there homophobia in The Descendents/ Adolescents lyrics?
Why did Sid Vicious (ew) wear a swastika?
I'm not excusing Chris here but I think it's a combination of being a symptom of the larger "let's do outrageous things that offend people" subsect of punk, and adolescent stupidity.
Once again, I point the blame squarely at tight pants.

If we are talking about Brian Tightpants then yes, I agree that this is most likely his fault.

I understand. Those are good questions. I wonder if the band has ever been asked about it

It's been a long time since I've seen an episode of Homestar. Classic.
