Thank you for the help!
Just out of curiosity, why are you playing Murphy? I was born there!
Yeah, Murphy is a bit of an interesting choice to play a show. Not a whole lot there.
For Asheville, you could check with Firestorm Cafe and Books. They have shows there, but you might have to already know someone who works there. And they recently-ish moved to a different location in West Asheville, I think, and I'm not sure if they're still doing shows. I know they at least used to only book shows from local bands or bands who already had some kind of local following. And you don't get any $$ for playing shows there (their shows are always free), but they give you a discount on food.
Also, can't help with Richmond, but if you're not super set on playing there and wanted to do a show in Virginia Beach...my house sometimes hosts shows BUT we've been on a bit of hiatus from that after neighbor complaints. If you're just acoustic, though, and don't play very late into the night I could try to talk to my roommates about it.
It's funny that you pointed out Murphy. That was just a note to ourselves that I forgot to delete. We are visiting a friend in Murphy, probably not playing a show there.
I have been to firestorm a few times, it's a cool place. I didn't know they moved and I'll see of I can get in touch with them. Thanks for the suggestion.
Firestorm doesn't have a stable new location yet. Try hitting up Ben Algeroy. He goes to Warren Wilson and sets up shows there. I don't have his email address on hand, but if you're on Facebook you can easily find him on there.
