I honestly don't understand why people are still in "wait and see, maybe he won't be the same person he always is!"philosophy at this point.  His cabinet appointments/considerations are straight up fucking frightening, there are no checks and balances now that every single aspect of the government is Republican, including the Supreme Court soon enough, and presidents don't become less themselves once elected, they become more their true selves. And we've seen time and time again who Donald Trump is.

We don't really have the choice of a "wait and see" approach. If anything, the election has shown we need to be more proactive.

You should focus that effort toward the 2018 midterms. I doubt Trump's old ass will run for a second term.

His old ass loves this shit.  He probably just sits and jerks off to his reflection in the fucking oval office
That's not really the point I was going for.

Brett, what would you list as your top ten bad-in-a-good-way horror films?  Or fifty, or whatever.  I'm not your dad.
Off the top of my head...

Rock n' Roll Nightmare
Maximum Overdrive
Phantom of the Mall: Eric's Revenge
Death Spa
Birdemic
Ebola Syndrome (warning: problematic movie)
Shredder Orpheus

That's all I got for now.

I'm gonna throw in For Y'ur Height Only even though it's not a horror film.

And The Crippled Masters.

There's a lot more depth to it than just guns/violence/drugs, at least with the stuff I posted.

Vince Staples is a former Crip whose father was also a gang member, grew up in Long Beach, has a pretty specific point of view, an incredible flow, and is incredibly honest with regards to his childhood and what drew him into gang life. Also that music video is just cool.

Ka is an FDNY captain who has an incredible sense of storytelling and has a pretty dense focus on people/families dealing with hardships in Brooklyn, and may get fired from firefighting because the New York post wrote a lynchmob article about his "secret" double life as a firefighter.

ScHoolboy Q is definitely on the glorification side of things. Was also a Crip and tends to veer towards straight up gangster rap. His sense of timing and wordplay is what makes him interesting. Kendrick Lamar has learned a lot from him.

Literally 90% of the time I'm listening to music. The Red Line is underground and doesn't get signal.

I think the likelihood is he ran to try and garner attention for another book/TV show (a la Carson) without actually expecting to get nominated, but he didn't realize how dumb Republicans are, and also he's a completely self-absorbed asshole who's now letting it get to his head.

Really enjoying the Flamingo Shadow EP from last year. Basically Madeline doing Jefferson Airplane, hell yeah.

Other than that, I've mostly just been listening to Marilyn Manson, Black Eyes, Fiona Apple, and Paul Simon lately.

In all honesty I"m glad the vile racism and bigotry from all these people has been put out in the open so they can no longer hide it.

It's too bad most of these people are too stubborn to change.

Do you think that Hillary actually cares about minorities or inequality in this country? I don't think that she cares about anything but gaining prestige, power, and money.
If you think this, you're ignoring her extensive history with equal rights.

I definitely have problems with Hillary (particularly how she handles foreign policy) but painting it as though she only cares about the 1% is manufactured by news outlets like Fox. Would Bernie have been better? Sure, but that doesn't cancel out her accomplishments.

I got promoted to an assistant producer position a few months ago and have been really enjoying actually being involved in something creative in this dumb industry after nine years of living here. It's reality TV but it's still cool being able to put together segments for the highest watched show on NatGeo. If you ever catch Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks while flipping channels (season premieres July 25th I think), I produced the segments for the boat with a one-armed captain. Woo!

Other than that, next month my family and I are taking a vacation up the coast to Monterey Bay and I'm going to FYF at the end of August. I have awesome friends, my cat meows all the goddamn time, and everybody should watch the movie Mustang. I basically only listen to Fiona Apple, Nick Cave, and Grouper these days and I haven't listened to any PIX bands in years aside from I listened to some Madeline last night while waiting for a movie to download. Madeline is still awesome.

Maron's episodes mostly depend on who he interviews. A lot of recent ones have been pretty terrible but the Louie Anderson one is pretty great. The William Friedkin  one from a few months ago is good too. Steve-O, Todd Haynes, and John Lurie as well, except for Maron continually calling John Lurie "dude."
