^ this is the band from Pete and Pete, right?

Also something about Rain Dogs by Tom Waits really helps me turn my sadness or anger into apathy

That's definitely something to think about. What a great quote by the way. I don't think I could ever actually quit music for good, I just take breaks from it as well. I always end up coming back to it because it's always been my main form of therapy.

Your music is awesome by the way, Dakota!

I still haven't made any progress on my alcoholism, but I think I'm learning to accept it. I also have a pretty okay job and I'm learning to drink only on my off days (I work 12 hour shifts so half of my days are off days) so I guess you could maybe call that progress (but at the same time, I drink more than ever because now I can afford it). I drank a bottle of McCormick and a bottle of Everclear in 2 days and the whole time was a blur, I said and did a lot of stuff I really regret. Including messaging an ex and they made me feel really guilty and like a piece of shit (I can't decide if I deserve that or not). I like my job here but I still have no friends. I now make 16 dollars an hour (which I think is pretty good), but I feel so lonely all the time and i question if it's even worth it.

I've basically given up on my own music, even thought it's so important to me, I've just gotten so tired of that feeling of rejection. I've tried more to focus on other people's music and trying to help friends. I used to always think that I was so special and that my music deserved to be heard over others. I think I'm finding out otherwise.

Weezer. I guess hate is a strong word, but I really dislike them. Everyone always tells me "you just need to listen to their old stuff', but I don't like that either. Their lyrics and melodies are unoriginal.

Mount Eerie. I love The Microphones but I just don't know where to start with Mount Eerie.

I always loved Counting Crows, especially their first album. i was never too crazy about Pearl Jam but they have some pretty good tunes.

I never understood why Alkaline Trio gets so much shit, I really like them. Maybe it's just because I've listened to them since I was like 12, but I still listen to them all the time.

Tom waits

Same here!

He's one of my favorites! I would definitely check out Rain Dogs if you're looking for a good album to start.

I've always dreamt of having a theme park named after me, Cope-land. I'd maybe give free admission to people with recently deceased loved ones (just for the sake of being punny). I'd also have to give free admission to some other people to cheer the sad people up. Maybe it could be a punk-themed park. (some ride ideas would be a Sonic Reducer theme, a ride based on Bad Religion's 'You', maybe one ride involves having fake GG Allin shit fly past you)

Realistically I'd buy a house, a car, all that boring stuff.

I just watched Instrument. I'm still not really crazy about their music but that was an AWESOME movie!

i dug the part when they played the show in some random school gymnasium and the singer (i forget his name.. the dude from rites of spring) is crawling through the basketball hoop and dangling upside down and screaming and it's just raw as fuck.

That part was really cool! I don't know how he was still singing being upside down like that.

Also, I heard Bomb the Music Industry! was making a documentary. Does anybody know anything about this?

Bright Eyes is amazing! I also used to love NOFX, I don't really listen to them anymore. To me they just haven't evolved over time, I still love their 90's stuff though. I've never been a fan of Brand New although almost all of my friends really like them.

Yea the first song I heard by them was "boulevard of broken dreams", but if Dookie was the first album I heard my opinion may be a lot different.

I've never been a big bad religion fan. When I first got into punk I pretended to like them because I felt like I was supposed to. I didn't like Green Day either. Also I don't know how everyone on here feels about Tom Waits but I know hes definitely not for everyone (I love him)

Lately I've been hearing a lot of people say they hate Paul Simon, but I really like his music (even his later stuff). I also like really early GNR even though people give them shit.
