Lose weight. I gained a bit over the holidays and my gym membership is collecting dust so, I am going to be vigilant on that for about 4 months.  4 times a week no exceptions.  2 miles of cardio a day at least plus 45 mins lifting(legs, midsection, arms). Eat better.  That is the plan.

Mostly just NOFX.  I still love the fuck out of this band.

I'm still fairly certain I did what I was suppose to in this thread and that fact you are getting so worked up about it, makes me think this answer was better than most.

It sparked discussion. That's what comment boards are supposed to do.  That is why I started this topic.

Anything with Mathew McConnaughey.
It seems like you're taking popular things to hate

Wasn't this the point of the thread? To find things that are popular which you do not like?

The point of this thread wasn't to provide blanket statements.  Plenty of good actors have bad movies and plenty of bad actors are in good movies.  I realize that 'good' and 'bad' are subjective terms but I find it incredibly unlikely that you would hate everything that McConaughey is in just based on the sole fact that he is in it.  I will give the conceit that up until recently(like last 5 years) McConaughey has starred in nothing but complete shit.  He has become legit, though.  Let's hope he keeps it interesting.

I realize it looks like I'm just sucking Mc's dick but I'm just disagreeing with your blanket statement. I definitely don't have an issue with you.

Killer Joe fuckin' rules.

It blows my mind that the same person who wrote Killer Joe(Tracy Letts) also wrote August: Osage County.   I didn't hate August: Osage County as much as some people, I actually kind of liked it.  That chicken leg scene in Killer Joe is so motherfuck perfect.

This seems you have a grudge against an actor.  I'm not invalidating your view that anything he is in is going to be complete garbage to you and you're going to hate it regardless of merit but that seems like a shallow and childish view.  There are plenty of movies that I wouldn't be caught dead watching with McCounaughey but I'd be damned if I didn't LOVE Killer Joe and Mud.  Not to mention his role in True Detective.  It seems like you're taking popular things to hate or you being a contrarian for the sake of being a contratian.  I don't know you personally and you could be a really chill person and I don't mean this to come off as an attack.  I'm just reacting to what I see.

Donnie Darko is the dumbest thing i've ever been forced to watch more than once

I feel like a ton of people loved Donnie Darko for a couple of years after it came out, but isn't the fact that it's horrible basically the unanimous consensus in 2014?
If you're over the age of 18 then I would say it is the consensus. It seems to be a movie that people grow out of when they get older and less angsty.

Had a few girls I dated in high school who loved this movie.  I kind of liked it but they picked the most cringe-worthy quotes as their favorite like
"Donnie: Why are you wearing that stupid bunny suit?
Frank: Why are you wearing that stupid man suit? "

I felt like I was dating a hot topic commercial.

Left a friend's house who was watching it about 15 mins in.  I was not enjoying those 15 mins.

BUT speaking of great horror-comedy, has anyone seen Tucker and Dale vs. Evil?  That and Cabin in the Woods are the best horror comedy movies I've seen in recent memory.

I don't know if this is a thing but on a board I used to frequent we'd do a daily post where you sort of post what you're doing that day.  It could be dumb and boring but I did posted in it everyday.  Let's see if it'll catch on here.

Hit snooze around 8 times today before I told my girlfriend it was time to get up
Brushed teeth and walked out to my car
Work
Spent about an hour posting my music in random forums, got 8 more likes on my little fb music page, if you want to be nice- https://www.facebook.com/pages/Chris-D-Owen/169843506400935
Bored as fuck
After work I am doing nothing fun.
The only good thing about today is that tomorrow is Friday

General / Re: Do you make new friends?
December 02, 2014, 09:51:10 AM
I have two types of friends.  Work friends and actual friends who I hang out with.

My friends that I hang out with are at least 30 minutes away and as I'm getting older, we're losing touch.  In High school, I had a core group of 8.  Now, I'm done to one, sometimes two.  At 28, it is hard to make new friends and Dallas's social hub of hardcore is a pretty insular place.  I rarely go to shows now because I'm don't feel like getting violent anymore.  If I go to show, I'll stand near the back with Shiner in hand, softly nodding until my legs hurt from standing and I'll sit and drink my beer with my girl.

My best friend has become less of one because of his absolute dedication to psychedelics and his anxiety that he has made worse by chronic use of molly.  I'm not ragging on him but it is something I have no interest in dabbling in.  He fucked his potential and he keeps taking steps back and I try to help him along but he can't be with a lot of people free of anxiety without drinking.

So, in other words, friends are hard to make.  And the saying is true "A lot of friends will leave but only a few you're going to miss."  And I miss those few.

Hi Ryan,

I'm mostly a lurker here.  I'm from Dallas.  I'm a Mr.  My name Chris.  There might be a few Chris's here so it might be easier to refer to me, on here at least, as Cracky.  My name doesn't mean anything, it just a variation of "crackinthewall" username  I used since I was 17.

My ears are pretty good today, I can't decide if I want to fuck them up by blastin Deafheaven today or not.

I should be happy.  I have a job and a car, I have an amazing girlfriend who loves me more than anything and shows me every day.  I make shit money but I scrape by and I want for nothing(except for all kind of guitars that I salivate over).

But my hearing is progressively getting worse. At the age of 28 I have a congenital hearing loss and Ménière's disease which can cause vertigo that can last up to 4 hours.  Last time it happened at work and the room just started spinning and I had pretty wicked motion sickness and I threw up for a couple hours.  Doctors say that it is hard to tell when an attack will come but they happen once a year or so and I've been having anxiety attacks when I think they might be coming on. I have constant tinnitus which sounds like a whooshing or dull roaring which shows that I'm losing the lower frequency hearing.  I've learned to live with it because it used to be just be in spurts but it is now perpetually there.  Playing music and listening to music saved my life and is still very important to me and to know that the ability to enjoy it is slipping away from me is killing me.

I've been having anxiety attacks at work where I have to concentrate on breathing.  My extremities will tingle and my face burns.  I tend to go to the bathroom and throw water of my face and wait for it to pass.  This happens at least once or twice a day.  They aren't that bad but they still suck.

It's been moved up to the September 16th.  You guys should keep in touch with JD's tumbler.  Not only is it TMG and JD related, it is also insightful, moving, interesting and motherfuck hilarious.  I love JD so much more after reading his tumblr for the past year-
