I don't remember the first one I bought with my own money but I do remember being pretty happy I got Alanis Morrisette's Jagged Little Pill for Christmas one year.  I was like... 10 or something.

I still love Bad Religion and don't really see them as a band that people grow out of like NOFX. I will say that I can put Punk in Drublic on and have a good time singing along, though.

I'm damn near 30 and still love the shit out of NOFX.  I haven't grown out of them and it has been 17 years.

I'm surprised to see Inherent Vice so high on this list.  That movie is beyond confounding to me.  I was so goddamn excited and I was thoroughly let down.  I know what PTA is going for and I didn't go in expecting something to the caliber of TWBB but, goddamn.  Pynchon is dense enough.

I'm embarrassed to say I did
...what?

I liked the movie but fucking hate the guitar idiot.

I loved the Doof Warrior.

And I fucking hate it.    I was a massive Refused fan and it looks like they're going to fuck up their legacy-

Stuff I've been jocking hardcore this year so far-

Father John Misty- I Love You, Honeybear
Sufjan Stevens- Carrie & Lowell
The Mountain Goats- Beat the Champ

and then some stuff from last year like Sun Kil Moon's Benji and even some old Pixies from Doolitte.

The new Tallest Man On Earth album leaked recently, and I've finally been able to give it a proper listen. Not really as cohesive as his other albums, but some really good tracks. Really underrated musician and one of the few people I've seen live in the past few years.

His stuff can be good bu some of it can be a little disjointed.  I liked The Wild Hunt a lot and I liked a lot of the songs on There's No Leaving Now(that title track destroys me).  I haven't heard the new one but I'll give it a listen.

It's nice to see Louie is still on point.

I'm still not sure about the first song. But as an overall package the album is really really good. The two songs on the bonus 12" of the deluxe edition I grabbed yesterday are really good too.

That is strange, I love Southwestern Territory.  The only song I'm iffy on is Fire Editorial.

This is Olive.  My and girlfriend I just moved in together and she isn't liking the new cats very much.  She hisses and growls all the time at them.  No injuries for either yet, though. Hopefully, in a few months time, she'll get used to them.

+ Moving with my gf into a new apartment less than 3 weeks
- So much left to do(like packing) and so much money I have to spend(movers, carpet cleaning in old & junk removal in old place because I'm lazy) until then

+ They let us come into the office on Saturday to make up for apocalyptic ice conditions on Thursday that prevented me from getting to work
- I have to work Saturday instead of letting us use PTO

+ Woke up early enough(4:45am) to get a little action from the lady before I left for work
- Woke up at 4:45am

So, no one is talking about House of Cards. This season wasn't as good as last but I'll be damned if I wasn't engaged the whole time.

If you were wondering what I did, I got a nestled polka dot box.  The big black has three small boxes. Each box has something I've written.  Each box is lined with little felt hearts. One box(the bigger of the three) holds some dark dark chocolate and a basically a long love letter giving exposition and my thoughts on our relationship up to this point. I go through events as I saw them and it'll be interesting to see if she saw them any differently now that so much times has passed.  The two smaller boxes have small cards in them.  One boxes card has a haiku I wrote for her and the other boxes card is just a freeverse poem I wrote for her.

I have no idea what she made but I'm sure it's more crafty.  But, thanks for the help, guys.

Okay, so my girlfriend and I have been exclusively been a couple for 1 year on 3/1.  I know she is making me something(I think it is scrapbook or memory book or something) and I have no idea what to do.  I already wrote her a song for the 6 month and I don't want to repeat myself.   I've already gotten started on a sort of prose piece of why she is the best thing in my life.  I don't want to just buy something because it will infinitely less meaningful.  So, if anyone has any good ideas, I'm all ears.   If you have any questions about us/specifics just ask and I will provide.

Astrology to me is all 'great magnet' pseudo science, hooey, hogwash, bologna.  I have a friend who says his sign describes him perfectly.  I have an identical twin brother and we are VERY different.

It is power of suggestion.

Podcasts.  I'm stressing a lot of about moving at the end of March.  The last time I moved was a complete disaster and I want this to go as smooth as possible.  I'm really excited because I'm moving in with a my girlfriend of a year and we get to really really share our lives together but packing and planning is stressful.  I wish I could fast forward until the day after the move  She is also REALLY frugal and makes quite a bit more than me so she really took some time and help put together a budget to pay off student loans and dental stuff by the end of the year but even that is stressing me out.  So, podcasts at work keep me occupied so I don't go into a stress frenzy.  That and music.  I REALLY looking forward to the new Father John Misty.  And I've been listening to Sun Kil Moon's Benji a lot.  It's great.

I really hate when I'm talking on the phone to someone, and a person that happens to be in the same room as either myself or the person I'm talking to decides to start throwing out their input and including themselves in our conversation.  I did not call that person, and what I'm talking about is none of their business unless they're specifically invited into the conversation.

My mom fell on hard times and had to move in with me for 3 months(which turned into 6, which turned into a year until last month I was like 'fuck this, I gave the landlord a 60 day notice, I'm  moving in with my girlfriend.') But EVERY TIME I'M ON THE PHONE and she is within 50 feet she is like "Who are you talking to? What? What did they have to say? What are you talking about?" while I'm on the motherfucking phone.  I tell the person to hold on for a sec and say "Mom, I'm on the phone, I can't talk to two people at once."  And then I'm the asshole.

Quit my job, go back to school, buy a modest house and make sure my boo and my family is taken care of.  I'd make sure to donate a good amount to good causes.  I'd travel.

I just watched Instrument. I'm still not really crazy about their music but that was an AWESOME movie!

i dug the part when they played the show in some random school gymnasium and the singer (i forget his name.. the dude from rites of spring) is crawling through the basketball hoop and dangling upside down and screaming and it's just raw as fuck.

Guy Picciotto.

Fugazi is, without a doubt, my favorite band.  As a teen I was obsessed with them and as a 28 year old I am just hoping they make another record some day.  If anyone listened to their final record, The Argument, released 2001, it is their crowing achievement and it is just as stunning as it was then, today. It goes like this- if I am only ranking studio albums(not counting 13 songs)

1. The Argument
2. In on the Kill Taker
3. Repeater
4. End Hits
5. Red Medicine
6. Steady Diet of Nothing

I never liked Big Star until this doc

As a musician, it inspired and brought forth a well-spring of creativity and I wrote 3 songs(not about the movie) that night.
