What music are you currently (or previously) making! I know we had this thread going in one of the subforums forever ago, it'd be nice to have one that is definitely current board members going.
Right now the main band I'm in is called Anybody But The Cops. It's angular noisy mostly instrumental punk stuff. Definitely doesn't translate so well recorded as it does live, but what can you do.

I like it, Rory! I like the pick-scraping at the end of Emma's Famous Coffee. Pick-scraping always seems like such a taboo, and I like it when people don't give a fuck.
I'm still playing avant improv whatever with revolving line-ups. I've been playing Cigar Box Bass, Turntable, and Bowed Cymbals in the latest incarnation. We'll record something in August, I think.
This recording is a year old, but its one of my favorites. I was on drums, contact mics, and samples.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again: your musicianship is ridiculously great, Rory.
https://soundcloud.com/zacktheshittymusician/85-bedsheet-song I'm not gonna claim to be some fantastic musician, but I am really proud of this song.
http://shitwolves.bandcamp.com/releases
Here, I played bass in this. The singer says "retards" once and I'm embarrassed about it. Otherwise, I think we did a great job.
I used to play in this blackened thrash metal band but we split up, just jamming with people these days.
Wow rory... This is pretty great noise rock. My friend Chris is going to love this also.
- Joe, will listen later.
- moreaboutwhozackis, sounds cool. had to turn audio way up though.
- Nate Rainey, that is pretty frigging punk rock!
- Hatefvkk, very metal ;)
here is a shitty song I have been working on for a short 10 minute album of 8 songs. the end is still a bit messy but i kinda like it so I'm not sure if i should keep the changes I am making. - http://wedidthisrecords.tumblr.com/post/88466527775/demo-mix-of-a-song-from-the-new-album

Many thanks man! My sound is kinda quiet as the guitar is painted on, dulling the sound I get, and also my DR-05 doesn't record loud well. When I get a real interface I'm sure you'll hear better out of me.

I really want to play sega megadrive sonic games now. I like these a lot.
I think Brett should make a rap album. Someone trick him into doing that.
Also, starting a fake record label called "Plan-It-X Records Message Board Records" is probably a good idea.

I'm partial to the cigarette wolf, myself. And the look on dildo wolf's face. He's having a great time.
in high school i was in a band called glory hole. we had a lot of fun, played some amazing shows with amazing bands (nothing like basement shows with Ergs!, Copyrights, Bent Outta Shape, For Science, and Rivethead) looking back it was the best time of my life and was the most fun i ever had, playing music with those guys. I miss it. We recorded a few songs and a few are found here.. https://myspace.com/gloryhole
I played a few shows here and there for my friends band Project 27. I was by no means involved with this band as far as recording goes or anything really other than those couple shows but i dig them and like there music so I'll post it anyway. super polished pop punk
http://project27.bandcamp.com/
and my main music thing at the moment is fried chicken n gasoline (FCNG) with my love/best friend.
FCNG

the recording aren't that great, but i feel "wondering could fucking kill you" sounds the best because that's the only one my girlfriend/bandmate produced and she's great at everything like that. but as far as songs go i like playing "tendril blues" and
"gone by tonight". those were recorded when we had a drummer. now we don't so we're either doing acoustic stuff and our last show we played just with me playing guitar and singing and my girl playing bass and singing too. no drums. it was kinda brutal sounding but fun.
My other project is called Cosmonaut and it's du wop/poppunk songs I've written that I still have to record. When I do i'll post em.
Me and my buddy Chrissy recently started making music.
Here's one of our songs:

I'm still waiting on the other demo tracks being sent through to me because we had problems with the levels n stuff.
Oh and I do stuff on my own as well:

I really liked your solo stuff Nyla, looking forward to hearing Joyce Delaney
I finally got a band together after years of trying. Apparently all I had to do was spend time convincing my two brothers that punk rock is totally awesome. So now we all play in a band called Gator Punch. We recorded some demos. We have our first show in a couple weeks. Exciting!

I put out my second solo album. www.garrettsucks.bandcamp.com I feel really happy about it. Just a little over a year since my first album. And my band VYVYAN has a demo online, www.vyvyan.bandcamp.com That band might put out an album at some point. Who knows!

Also, I play bass in a band called The Wild. You can download all of our stuff for free on Quote Unquote Records. We also have an acoustic split 7" with Ryan Harvey coming out on PIX soon! Here's a link to our most recent full-length: http://quoteunquoterecords.com/qur067.htm
I do a solo thing as well. No real recordings yet, aside from five quick songs that are on this live thing. The Mike Strain songs are what you should really be listening to, though.

I'm in a band called Johnson from Accounting. We've existed for around 8-months now, and the only recordings we have are basement recordings from almost half our life ago. If you want to listen to such a thing, you can find it at http://johnsonfromaccounting.bandcamp.com. We're influenced by bands like Propagandhi, the Dead Kennedys, Crass, and Kid Dynamite, and we're inspired by equal parts rage and silliness. 8)

https://flywheelshyster.bandcamp.com/releases
i have only one up right now but will have my kinda "EP" up by tonight or tomorrow after work
I HAVE THE EP UP! sorry i'm kinda excited because the majority of these songs I never posted on my tumblr so no one has ever heard them. I implore anyone and everyone to please give some of them a listen, comment on them, like if you like it, give me constructive criticism, and tell me whether i have the talent to maybe actually put together a band and play these songs live. Right now they have all been done more as hobby. I couldn't decide on the band/project name Flywheel Shyster or ROOF ATTACK! so if you give it a listen, please vote on project name too! Thanks any and everyone...

This is from a pretty recent show of ours, and I'm happy with the sound quality.
This set was a VS set with our friends, and a bit after this section of stuff, I broke a string, tore up my hand on the broken string, then while our friends played I found someone with bass strings, ran around the building to get them, hopped a fence, and changed my string in time to play again. It was a nightmare, but I was pretty proud of myself. Being left handed has really put in in a tight spot as far as string-breakage. I've broken too many bass strings recently, and so I'm never buying Ernie Ball strings again.
Dang, what a great story! Talk about punk :)
if anyone gets a chance to check out my demo EP or already has, let me know what you didn't like or what to work on. i'd appreciate it. thanks

if they are breaking at the bridge every time (especially if it is the same string over and over), you may have a burr at the saddle.
i'm merging this thread with that one.

This is the first available song on my band's actual release that was recorded/mastered.
I've never had anything mastered before, so I'm really excited about it.
Also, I don't think I ever posted it, but my band Boring People also has a split single release on this same label. It's more indie-rock approachable stuff, but I'm very pleased with how this recording turned out. Also, the other band on our split is really, really great.

So my band is going to start recording our first ep, and I was just wondering what was the best way to go about getting them reproduced and printed and everything. Figured this was a good place to ask.
what are you trying to do? CDs? CDRs? tapes? vinyl? how many?
Sorry, should've been more specific. I want to do CDs, and a relative small run of them, maybe 50. I know a lot of sites offer bulk discounts, but as of right now we have a pretty small fanbase.
honestly, unless you're looking at CDRs, i don't think any place is going to do that small of a run. And if they will, it will be super expensive
Yeah, you're probably gonna have to go with CD-r for that quantity. I recommend https://www.kunaki.com/
Thanks a lot. I'll check that out and keep that in mind. We still have to record even, so I have time.
I play music. I just released an album of covers the other day.

Can we also make this a thread about how much fun it is to be in a band, because it is seriously the best. My band has played 4 shows so far, and each one has been a blast. And one show was opening for Erik Peterson, which was an amazing happening that I still can't believe happened.

I went through just about everything here. You guys are really good at what you do and the love shows.
Some things I wrote down as I listened:
Jerkemy are those sampled video game sounds? Or recreated? Very cool.
Wolves drinking beer. :)
Your voice sounds really awesome Nyla. I'm glad you wrecked it for those recordings. My speakers were incredulous as it was.
THE POWER - Those drawings are awesome! I kept getting lost in the little details.
Montezuma's stuff was worth listening to twice. Both sites.

Totally a fan of Sweatlands, Ankle Grease, I Made This Mistake, Pretty Hot/Ghost Mice(I've lived off of dumpster pizza..that made me LOL), Defiance, Ohio and pretty much everything by Anti-Creative. You guys rock so hard.
(Glory Days with a banjo was genius, myles.)
Thanks for sharing everybody. I'm doing pretty simple stuff. Not sure what to call it. If you have any ideas..please fill me in. Seriously..thanks. I'm calling it folk punk for now and hoping it sticks.
